Video Streaming Player Functions


A Beka Academy is pleased to introduce video streaming. This page displays the sample player that will be used for viewing the videos. Place your mouse cursor over the numbers on the sample player below for explanations of the functions and benefits of the player. The Today’s Lessons area presents the student with the group of lessons that are recommended for a well rounded day of curriculum.

  1. The Back button navigates the student to the previous video segment in the viewing library.
  2. The Next button navigates the student to the next video segment in the viewing library.
  3. The Refresh button refreshes the list of lessons in the viewing library.
  4. The list of video segments for each subject for today’s lesson. A student is able to select any video segment from the list to watch. The check marks indicate completed video segments.
  5. The Video Library button provides a listing of all lessons that the student is able to watch.
  6. The Watch Lesson button initiates playback of the selected video segment.
  7. I’m Watching is the caption associated with the video segment that the student is currently watching.
  8. The Student Information area provides the name of the student logged in. The View Information button will provide additional student details and links that can direct students to helpful areas of the A Beka Academy website.
  9. The Message Center allows communication to students from A Beka Academy and functions much like an email inbox.
  10. The Play/Pause button controls starting and pausing of the video segment being viewed.
  11. The Stop button ends the video segment being viewed.
  12. The Seek button allows the student to fast forward or rewind the video segment.
  13. The Full Screen button switches from regular viewing mode to full screen viewing mode.
  14. The Audio Control allows adjustment to volume level.
